CHARJAX TRAINING STUDIO CONCEPT

CharJax is a boutique fitness studio offering skill-based cardio and functional training for adults ages 35–65+. The focus is on helping everyday people build strength, coordination, confidence, and long-term physical capability through structured, engaging, and safe training methods.

CharJax is not a traditional gym and not a fight gym. It is a coached, structured training environment where participants learn movement, improve fitness, and develop real-world physical skills without pressure, ego, or contact.

Skill-Based Cardio & Fitness
At the core of CharJax is the concept of skill-based cardio—training the body through learning and performing movement patterns rather than repetitive, mindless exercise.

This approach develops:
Cardiovascular fitness through continuous movement
Coordination, rhythm, and timing
Cognitive function (memory, focus, reaction time)
Balance and body awareness
Confidence and control under movement

Participants are guided through progressive patterns and sequences, similar to martial arts forms, which improve both physical and mental performance.

CharJax Box • Flow • Strength (Signature Class)
This is the foundation of CharJax programming. Each class blends multiple training elements into a structured, coach-led session that evolves in complexity and intensity.

Key Components
1. Movement Flow & Skill Development
Participants learn structured patterns including:
Footwork and positioning
Proper punching mechanics
Defensive movement
Combination sequences
These patterns may build into longer combinations, improving:
Coordination
Memory
Focus
Rhythm

2. Balance & Coordination Training
Balance is a core pillar of every class. Specific drills are integrated to improve:
Stability
Control
Joint awareness
Various tools are used, including:
Small reaction balls (e.g., racquetballs)
Larger soft balls for throwing and coordination drills
These exercises enhance athleticism in a safe and engaging way.

3. Strength Training (Functional & Integrated)
Strength work is performed using:
Bodyweight
Dumbbells (light to moderate)
Resistance bands
The focus is on:
Functional strength
Unilateral (single-side) training
Controlled movement patterns
This builds muscle while improving coordination and reducing injury risk.

4. Partner Work (Safe & Structured)
Participants work together in controlled, choreographed drills that simulate boxing and basic striking skills without contact.
Examples include:
Glove-to-glove drills
Timing and reaction exercises
Non-contact sparring games (e.g., targeting shoulders or knees)
This develops:
Timing
Awareness
Speed
Confidence

5. Heavy Bag Training
Punching bag work is performed with a partner holding the bag to control movement. This allows for:
Higher intensity intervals
Anaerobic conditioning
Strength and power development

6. Recovery & Mobility
Each class finishes with:
Stretching
Breathing work
This supports flexibility, recovery, and mental relaxation.

Class Structure
CharJax classes typically follow a consistent flow:
Group warm-up → skill development → partner work → group conditioning → stretch

Self-Defense Fusion
A unique CharJax offering focused on practical movement and awareness, taught in a non-contact, low-pressure format.
Participants learn movements against:
Grabs
Chokes
Common real-world scenarios
Training is performed:
In the air (no partner contact required)
Using everyday objects (e.g., keys, pens)
Benefits include:
Repetition without risk
Improved coordination and confidence
Functional strength and mobility
Increased awareness and preparedness
This class blends:
Skill learning
Fitness
Stretching and strength
